This bike rack was originally given to me
by the guys at Cycle Smithy for Ed and I to use on our way to Bike
Summer in San Francisco. It served me well for many years but would
only hold two bikes. The fact that it connected to the trailer hitch
it prevented the back door from opening and I had to have the spare
tyre in the car because the rack was not designed for a car with a
mount on the back. So David and I customized it to mount on the spare
wheel lug posts. This now allows me to keep the spare outside and
open the door with bikes on the rack. Plus we rebuilt the rack to
hold three bikes. This will make it much better for three people going
camping with bikes.
